List of Anime Now Continuing on TV

As some people asked me by mail if I knew the list of the anime now continuing on TV, I introduce Newtype site to you all.
It has the lists on the regular-broadcast basis and the satellite basis. Both of them are in Japanese alphabetical order and in Japanese. I’m sorry I don’t know the list written in English. If some of you know one, please let me know.

TV Commercial made by Production I.G

A TV commercial of a beverage, Kirin Lemon 77, first aired in this March has become a little topic of anime fans.
It is only a short animation film, but has such an elaborate background and characters revolving around the imaginary sport called "skyshoot" that everyone wanted to know who made it.
According to Web Anime Style, it was made by Production I.G.
The genereal director is Ishii, Katsuhito who designed anime characters for Kill Bill.
As the garana flavored bevarage, Kirin Lemon Black, came to be on sale this summer, a new version appeared on TV.
You can watch both versions on the official Kirin site.

To Know What a New Manga is Like

Sometimes I worry if I missed a must-read manga.
However I claim to be a fan, I can’t read every manga coming out almost every day.
You can see the magazine-publication schedule on the following site.
漫画雑誌発売カレンダー(Manga Magazine Publication Calendar)
and tankoubon-publication schedule on this site.
コミック発売一覧 (Comics Release Data)

No ordinary fan can keep up with them. How I wished for a summary or critic site that covers all manga titles.
Now, I found a blog that comments on 89.8% (self-enumeration) of all volume 1s of new tankoubon every day!
マンガ一巻読破 (Reading Through Manga Volume 1s)
It really helps.

Free online manga for interenational readers

Can manga officially provided on the interent become the mainstream?
I can't help regarding them as the niche business now. Aside from the fact that fans prefer manga printed on the paper, the lineups of the titles in the distribution sites are more ore less old or far from major.

In other words, there must be the possibility if it has the fascinating lineup that we can't help but turn our attention to.
Distributing manga (anime, movie or any) works through the internet has another potential strength ; fans all over the world can read them simultaneously without being bothered by the time lag caused by the troublesome licencing and translation.

A publishing company, Gentosha, launched the English version of its online manga site yesterday.

Web Comic Genzo

It contains some popular manga such as Gravitation.
You can try it for free now, and if you want to subscribe it on the internet, you can charge to your international credit card.

Additional fun you can have with manga tankubon

1.
If you have a Japanese tankoubon, try taking off the jacket!
Japanese manga tankoubon usually have a jacket on them and some of them have a different picture or even a comic strip exclusively drawn for tankoubon on the cover (under the jacket.)

2.
Occasionally you can find a manga character from the other manga series as a passer-by or somebody. Almost always it is drawn by the quoter to pay homage to the character.
In this site you can view the replicated scene and the original one from Lovely Complex vol.3. Upper one is in Ichigo Mashimaro vol.4 .

3.
Sometimes you find the same house, building or landscape in some different manga.
Those three houses in Sumomomomomomo, Tenjou Tenge and Shingetsutan Tsukihime look identical. It seems the artists referred the same material..

4.
It is well known that the artist of Eye Shield 21 revises some parts of his artworks when the manga comes into a tankoubon.
A fan compared some shots from Weekly Shonen Jump and the equivalent ones from the tankoubon.
On the other hand, some artists overlook and forget to revise something important, giving their characters something extra.

In Prince of Tennis

In Detective Conan

Learn from your competitor

If you are an amateur manga artist and want to be a pro mangaka, never miss this website.

Manga Collage Selection

There are runner-up entries for the monthly new face contest by Shonen Sunday. However the grand prize doesn't assure you will be a pro, it's a big chance to receive some advice from the editors. To read a manga, click on the button like:

Manga Collage is the name of the contest took place once a month in Shonen Sunday. Almost all manga magazines are calling for the next talent. I don't think it's impossible for the artists outside Japan to apply for them as long as the entry is written in Japanese because I have never seen the nationality requirement (however there is the possibility that they just can't imagine the entries from overseas..)

If you are interested in participating in the contest, please leave your comment on this topic. If it gathered a considerable number of comments, I will ask the editors if they accept the entry from overseas and how to do it.
