An encounter
Comiket Special 4, an irregular event of Comic Market (often abbreviated to Comiket or Comike), took place on March 21st.
I can imagine many otakus who were on their way home hanging around in the town of Akihabara.
A Japanese anime fan run into 12 fans from England in Akihabara.
He reported about the encounter in his blog that is one of the most popular blogs on Japanese pop culture.
To his (and my) surprise, they didn't know it was the Comiket's day; they happened to stay in Tokyo around that time. How lucky!

Yes it was a surprise for us.
We checked for any anime festivals before we came but nothing was listed for the Big Sight, so we didn't think much of it.
It was only this chance encounter which really helped us. We went striaght to Comiket and had an excellent time.

It's always fun to see Japanese Otakus discover just how many foreign Otakus there are out there. :) It's becoming a wolrd-wide culture!
